sad day in provo

mode boutique in provo is closing.

this is incredibly sad because mode was the best store in provo. they always have the cutest clothes and accessories. their clothes are kind of edgy and a slice of perfection. i got my bb dakota flannel plaid shirt there, it is pretty much the greatest thing to ever happen to me.

to commemorate the store closing they are of course having a sale, so scoot on over there and get what you can before they officially close on saturday. i love a good sale, so this is a little bittersweet. their address is 45 n. university avenue in provo. click here to see their blog.

that's a little shadey

today i had a mini-shade reunion with my former co-workers, shan'tel and rachel. we worked together in the original shade store in american fork and became good friends. unfortunately our fourth shade friend, mandy was unable to join us for the occasion. we had a delicious lunch at zupa's and then did a little photo shoot at our old store. we had a grand time reminiscing about our shade adventures.

is it a little weird

...that i kinda sorta have a crush on jack white?

i mean he is slightly slash really creepy. i think he is just kind of mesmerizing. and i thoroughly enjoy the raconteurs, especially their song "level," though all their songs are good. and now he has this new band called the dead weather and the photo shoot is definitely creepy, but i mean...do you feel it too?

it's kind of like when michael scott was asked if he would rather be feared or loved and said, "i want people to be afraid of how much they love me." yeah, i'm kind of afraid of how much i love jack white. and as much as i strongly dislike renee zellweger, i understand a little bit why she was with him a few years ago.

but seriously though. is it weird?

this is completely unrelated to the following post, but pandora just mixed aly & aj into my music...awkward.

if you have not had the opportunity to read the daily universe today, you are missing out. the daily universe is usually pretty boring in the summer, but not today.

highlight of the reader's forum...a byu student is gay. who would have thought it was possible? pretty sure i did and anyone else that has ever step foot on campus. i gotta give props to someone who isn't afraid to come out at byu.

jul 3: officers responded to a suspicious person at the bookstore upset about the deodorant selection. the person picked up a stick of deodorant, kicked it across the floor, then paid for the deodorant and left.

we all know that i can't pass up a bargain and kind of have a shopping addiction. well, with that said...i got an amazing deal yesterday. right now at shade they are having a little sale. i have had my eye on the scoop neck 3/4 in jade ever since it came out this spring but have just been waiting for it to go on sale. yesterday while i was at my internship (which coincidentally is at shade) i was perusing the website and saw that this little number is on sale for $4.99. since i can't pass up a deal i walked on over to the other side of the warehouse and purchased it. apparently there is an additional discount going on for everyone and it ended up being only $3.71. can you believe it? i think i'm going to need the white one now too. i can't wait to wear it with a pencil skirt...precious.
