resolve

i resolve in 2013 to be happy.

i resolve to start exercising to be happy.  not to be a certain size or firmness but just to be happy.  you know, endorphins and all that.

i resolve to be more conscientious about the things that i put in my body so that i can be healthy which will in turn make me happy.

i resolve to put my clothes away after i take them off to be happy.  a cluttered house = a cluttered mind. a clean, organized room = happy pudge.

i resolve to wash my face not just in the morning but at night too so that my face will be soft, beautiful, and happy.

i resolve to strengthen my relationship with my God which i know for a fact will make me happy.

i resolve to stand up straight and show the world my happy face.  after all my mom did always tell me that no one would want to marry me if i didn't stand up straight.  turns out she was right!  guess i should have practiced the piano too...

i resolve to figure out who this pudge person is, what the h she wants, and be happy with her.

i resolve to expand my mind and soak in the happiness.

i resolve to stop sitting around waiting and start making things happen, start living all those dreams and be happy.

i resolve to not dwell on the negative and focus more on the all the bright, wonderful, happy things in my life.

i resolve to live in the moment and to live this life with passion and devotion and be happy.

my baby jack

my heart just died.  have you heard of the dog, pomsky?  it's pretty much the cutest dog on the planet.  it's a pomeranian/husky and it basically looks like a fluffy husky that stays puppy size forever!  look at these pictures, i'm dying.

i mean, are you kidding me?  is there anything more precious in this world?  i seriously want one so bad.  i just want to name it jack, be best friends, and cuddle forever.

hart of dixie

i don't know if you're watching hart of dixie yet, but maybe you should.
i don't know if it's just because of my infatuation with rachel bilson, but i'm kind of obsessed. every time i watch it i just want to pick up and move to bluebell, alabama (can you tell that utah and i are having a hard time right now?). and even if you're not really into the show you can at least watch for the styling.

for example:
and these aren't even the best ones! she seriously always looks so good - hair, clothes, shoes, everything. jaime king's southern belle styling is pretty cute too, especially her makeup. and i think the show is pretty fun, just a light hearted show about a small town in alabama.... precious.

this isn't from the show, but here's another one for good measure.
dear rachel,

when i move to california this summer can we please be best friends? we can have bonfires on the beach, go to lunch, go shopping and do pretty much whatever the h we want. i think it sounds pretty great too. call me!

see ya soon,
paige

this season of christmas

the christmas season was not intended for getting up and going to work everyday.

i actually have that opinion about all seasons, but this post is about christmas.

i am supposed to be in colorado. i am supposed to be shopping, baking, and decorating with my mother. i haven't spent an entire christmas season at home in over six years and i find this to be very upsetting.

now, let's talk about how precious these christmas decorations are.

i'd like to introduce you to my best friend.

i gave this kid a ride home from high school one time and he told me "paige, your car is so weird. it just fits you so well." umm get out of my car.

about a year ago i realized my car is my best friend. we spend at least 80 minutes commuting together everyday. it is so dependable and always there for me. it still loves me even when i wait a year to get the oil changed (i wish that was an exaggeration). and not once has it ever let me down. such amazing loyalty. the hatchback is just so convenient, i don't know how i'd live without one now. and we've just made so many memories. i have come to cherish all those midsummer road trips to colorado, just me and the civic. perfection.

i have also come to the realization that the civic might die soon. it's running okay but i kind of put it through a lot with my commute everyday. since coming to this realization i have been looking at cars. the only ones that i like are suvs from the 1980s/1990s or bmw 3 series.

you know how when women are trying to get pregnant and all they see are babies? well i am apparently trying to get pregnant with a jeep cherokee from the early 1990s. i seriously saw like 100 of them today and i am in love.
they all just scream "paige, love me! we'd be so happy together!" and i'd totally be down with some wood paneling. the boxier the better. i don't like how aerodynamic, 'sleek' and efficient all these new cars are nowadays.

these cars are hardly fuel efficient and i have a 40 minute commute. they are also old and will most likely have problems. but these cars make heart flutter. literally. i get the butterflies and my heart skips when i think about driving them.

all of this has led me to the question:
am i allergic to practicality?

with every fiber of my being.

i want nothing more in this life than to be living in a small beach house right now. i just want to wake up tomorrow morning and be there and never leave.

i don't think this is asking too much.

i don't even like animals but...

how could you resist this precious little face?
or this one?
if i can't share my life with a man, i am going to share it with a dog.
specifically this dog. and we will take professional studio portraits.
much like rob & big did here.

p.s. how do you feel about just the regular old "minima" template versus the "minima stretch" template i had previously? i feel like the current, regular minima makes just pudge look a bit more precious but i just can't decide. and while we're at it, my header needs help and i need your suggestions.

you won't regret it...

so the killers concert is tomorrow night. and much to my dismay, i don't have a ticket and no one has offered to take me. i know you thought you were too late and that you lost your chance to offer to take me, but it's okay people. don't worry, there is still time and there are still some tickets.

come on. just take me to the concert. maybe i'll take you to a concert some time. maybe. please, please, please?

pretty please?

i really want to go to the killers concert in salt lake on the 26th of september. they are my favorite band and they put on such a great show. i love them. i have already seen them two-and-a-half times, so i am having a hard time justifying paying to go to another concert, but i want to go soooooooo bad.
a couple years ago i saw the drummer, ronnie vannucci, at the salt lake airport when i was getting back from christmas break. i didn't want to be lame and go up to him, but my friend convinced me to and the following awkward conversation occurred:
me: hey, aren't you ronnie from the killers?
ronnie: yeah, i am.
me: you guys are my favorite band. your music is so good, so mazel tov.
ronnie: mazel tov? (laughter) have you watched fiddler on the roof lately?
me: (awkward laughter) no, i just enjoy judaism. can i get your autograph?

yeah...i'm pretty awkward. "i just enjoy judaism" who says that? i should have just said, "no, i'm jewish." it wouldn't have been a lie because i am an eighth jewish after all. he was super cool and nice though. i am still so mad i asked for an autograph and not a picture. i had my camera with me and what good is an autograph going to do me? not much. he did write "city of salts" along with his signature on my baggage claim ticket, which was kind of cool.

the moral of the story is that i want to go to the killers concert. i think you should go too and maybe buy me a ticket??? i promise they will not disappoint and neither will i.

daydreaming

sorry alex beazer. this post is completely about clothing, so you can just stop reading right now.

as i mentioned in my previous post, i am very excited for fall clothing. for the past month i have been compiling a list of fall essentials...

the jeans. these are my fall jeans, so cute right? i saw them on urban's website and just knew i had to have them and they were on sale, so martha and i promptly went over to buy them. and they are so cute. they are levi's and the color is "eyeliner." i have decided that i am going to be one of those people that tucks shirts into jeans this fall and how cute would this shirt be tucked into these jeans?
the answer to that question is very cute.

i really want some brown boots and aren't these fryes just divine? this could be me, how precious. oh wait, fryes are really expensive. but wouldn't they be a good investment? anyone want to invest in me wearing these boots around town?

fair isle sweaters. i really want one, they just look so precious and comfortable.

i am trying to stray from t-shirts everyday and i love how this top can be casual and effortless, but you can dress it up all at the same time. it's kind of the perfect shirt.

yes, i have an obsession with plaid. but how cute am i going to look walking around campus everyday in this little number? pretty darn cute until i see 50 other girls with the same jacket because i bought it at the nordstrom anniversary sale. fmfo (think about it for a minute, if you know me pretty well, you'll figure it out).

the sartorialist book is out now. i need to get this book and get outfit ideas so i can look oh so chic everyday.

since i am now an adult, living on my own, my mom doesn't take me school shopping for new clothes. i unfortunately have no money but really want new clothes. what's a girl to do? i would be willing to let you take me school shopping...pretty please? i'll make it worth your while...

what are the fall essentials you need for your wardrobe?
