i tried watching jumper last night because of my non-lesbian crush on rachel bilson.  

i had heard the movie wasn't very good but i thought i would give it a shot.  this was a mistake.  i don't think i even made it half an hour.  

yes, rachel is precious and hayden christensen is rather attractive, but no.  the movie was retarded.

off to a good start

i moved in with my sister's family for the summer and though it's only been one day, it has gone pretty well so far.  brooke and david have two kids, afton (4) and grayson (3), i have talked about them before and you probably know how in love with them i am.  

this morning afton came in and woke me up.  she said, "how did you sleep?"  i responded "good" and then she asked "how were your dreams?"  i just smiled and said that they were good.  i later asked grayson what he dreamed about and he said, "mickey mouse and race cars, i always dream about mickey mouse and race cars."  oh to be three again.

this afternoon grayson and i ate lunch on the deck and when we were going inside he said, "it was good eating lunch outside with you."

while afton was supposed to be in bed sleeping, she came downstairs and asked me how to spell "henry" (her ex-boyfriend) because she was writing in her diary.  i asked her what she wrote about henry in her diary and she said that she didn't want to tell me.

i was at my sister's last night and my 4 year old niece was talking to this little boy about riding a roller coaster.  his mom said to him, "but jack, what if the roller coaster goes really fast and afton gets scared?"  his casual response: "i could hold her."  pretty much one of the most precious things i have ever seen.  oh young love.

Feb. 22: Police received a complaint from Wyview about three male individuals with white masks dancing around a car while the complainant and her boyfriend were inside. They said they felt threatened. The masked men were gone when police arrived.

you just know that these people were making out in their car and the masked individuals thought it would be funny to dance around them. i commend these individuals, pretty creative. word to the wise - if you don't want people to harass you while you make out, try going to a bit more discreet location than the parking lot in front of your apartment complex. just a suggestion. though i guess this was at wyview and pretty much everyone that lives there is a giant square...

here are a couple other jems:

March 13: A student walking near the Crabtree Building reported being hit in the face by a small hard object thrown from a passing car. The student discovered the object to be a Skittle. The victim got the license plate of the car, but the owner of the car denied any involvement in the incident.

March 21: The body of the Cougar statue at LaVell Edwards Stadium was found sprayed with the phrase “Rent Me” in shaving cream. The eyes were filled with the cream, too.

i recently wrote a research paper on coco chanel and found this glorious little quote from her.

i don’t understand how a woman can leave the house without fixing herself up a little - if only out of politeness.  and then, you never know, maybe that’s the day she has a date with destiny.  and it’s best to be as pretty as possible for destiny.

new goal: be as pretty as possible for destiny.  no more men's v-necks in public or old man stinky loafer/moccasins for the rest of the week (starting small).

my brother nash is 18 and a senior in high school.  he asked one of his friends to prom in a pretty creative way, here's the video.  i was pretty impressed.

i told him i thought the video was "precious" and he responded, "i don't like that adjective." that seems to be a popular opinion among most males.

if it rained all day i would be a happy camper. there is just something so beautiful about the rain to me.

gray is probably my favorite color and there is nothing like an overcast sky with fog covering the tops of the mountains. the contrast of the gloomy sky with the intensely colored ground is so striking. rain is romantic, eerie, comfortable, warm, playful, exciting, sympathetic, intriguing...and the list goes on.

provo got a little taste of the magnificence of rain last night and this morning, but then it stopped and turned into snow and then into bitterness. typical.
