quick!
i need a good book to read asap!
to the few of you that are still reading this blog:
if you were going on a bit of a sunny vacation what book would you bring with you?
what's your favorite book?
what book do think paige would like?
in case this helps, my favorite books are probably:
the secret life of bees
the help
to kill a mockingbird
the historian
i like mostly upbeat books that will make me laugh, smile and maybe cry (but not because they are depressing). and i apparently really like books that take place in the south and dabble in the civil rights movement...
please help me.

have you seen this?
please tell me you have seen the secret life of bees. this movie is amazing. i read the book a couple years ago and thought that it too was amazing, but the movie just affected me so much more - probably because i am a visual person. i saw the movie twice in the theater (big deal when you're poor) and rented it the week it came out on dvd. i thought it was well cast which is surprising because i don't really like queen latifa or alicia keys, but they all played their parts so well, especially dakota fanning. i am so impressed by dakota, she is such a good little actress. she has this presence in a movie that is remarkable for only being 15 years old and she has been that way ever since she started acting. she reminds me of my niece, so maybe i am a little biased. anyway, the movie is wonderful. if you haven't seen it, please do - it will make you feel so good inside. you will want to cry the entire movie and if you're like me, you will cry through the entire movie. i don't want to spoil anything, so i will just tell you this - moral of the story: everyone deserves to be loved.
anyone else as mesmerized with this movie as i am?

new obsession
last september, my sister shea told me that i needed to read the twilight series because she was obsessed with it and thinks it is amazing, etc. so last week i decided it was time to read it because one of my goals this summer is to read more books. i read twilight in 3 days, i have never in my life read a book in three days--i'm not a big reader, especially for leisure. i am now reading the second book and i can't stop, i am obsessed. is it awkward that i am entranced by a book about a 17 year old that is in love with a vampire? maybe. i just love that edward and i have found my self fantasizing about having a vampire for a boyfriend. all day when i'm at work i just want to go home so i can read, these books have consumed my life. oh my, this is so absurd.also, i haven't had a chance to write anything about the office finale...so good! i was a little disappointed that andy ruined jim's litte plan, but at the same time i thought it would have been a little lame for jim to propose to pam at an office party. the whole episode was hilarious. this new holly character is probably the best thing to ever happen to michael since they are the same person. my favorite part was when holly was talking to kevin and he said "i do the numbers." genius. it really made up for the past few episodes which were good, but not quite as good as we are accustomed to.
