non-digital photos

so we had the thomas family reunion last summer and i decided to take my 35mm camera along and take some pictures. i just got the film developed (yes, a year later) and these photos are the result.

the first three photos are on the side of the road between ouray and durango, the rest are at mesa verde. all in colorado.

so long, farewell...

well, after sixty-five years the creepy reams on center and 900 west in provo has closed.

they took down all their signs and these cool olds ads were apparently behind them. I decided to venture out of my apartment the other day and take pictures of them. i got some awkward looks from the passersby (perhaps it was the ridiculous man sweats i was wearing...there's really no way to tell) and i found that i am not very good at taking pictures anymore. enjoy.

i love sprite.
"easy in easy out" more like "one way in, one way out with lots of creepers in between."

goodbye reams...you creepy, creepy establishment.

hey now

this is pretty much the most precious photo i have ever seen.

about that time.

this happens pretty much every week.  i sit on my bed watching tv while "trying" to write a paper.  i make a little progress and then surf for a little bit and decide i should post on my blog.

so here we are.  i just made a powerpoint on the history of the bustle while watching america's next top model.  now i am watching seinfeld and have to write a two page paper on the bustle but just can't quite bring myself to do it.  not that writing a two page paper is difficult, it seems rather simple compared to that twelve page research paper i am avoiding.  can i just tell you how much i am going to enjoy not writing papers when i graduate?  i would rather take a test any day than write a paper.  i tend to do better on papers, but i just procrastinate until the very last second and make everything much more stressful than the situation warrants.  for example, i had a research proposal due last week that took more than six hours to write and when i actually put forth a little effort, it really only took about an hour and a half - if that.  why do i do this to myself?  it's almost as if i am intentionally trying to torture myself because i know full well that if i just focused i could get it done rather quickly, allowing time for fun things.  but no, i just continue on in the same fashion like i always do.  this is getting quite ridiculous.

here's a nice little tangent for you:  emma roberts is precious.  she is on the cover of april's teen vogue, yes i am almost twenty-two and have a subscription to teen vogue.  the clothes are cute and i'm not gonna lie, some of the articles are very applicable to my life.  so sue me.

anyhow, emma roberts is just so dang cute.

this photo shoot makes me yearn for summer and want to do more photography.

definitely obsessed.

last summer my family was up at my grandparents' home for father's day. since the babies aren't all together very often now, i decided to follow them around with my 35 mm and snap away. they are all just too precious.

preciousness

i have the cutest nieces and nephew ever.  and i'm not just saying that.  my sister, brooke, recently did a photoshoot of her kids-afton and grayson- and i don't think the photos could be any more precious.  click here to see the preciousness.

sarah and jason

last thursday i had the pleasure of taking my good friends' (sarah and jason) engagement pictures. i have never taken engagement pictures before and it was a little frustrating for everyone at first until we found a very cool location near some train tracks in provo. once we found it, i was all inspired and we got some pretty good shots.

here are a few of the ones i have started editing out of the millions we took...

disregard the cars in the background, haven't quite gotten around to photoshop yet.

more to come!

my babies

i go over to my sister's house every sunday for dinner and a couple of weeks ago i was playing outside with afton and grayson and we took some pretty precious pictures.

these two are some of the most hilarious kids you will ever meet.

"i'm king!"

i love it when she makes this face.

how can you not fall in love with this sweet little man?

this one's a gem. i hope she never loses the space in between her teeth, too cute.

afton just had so much fun with her aunt paigey that she passed out on the couch.

more of my photography

i was going through some of my work and decided to scan and share some of my contact sheets from high school.

these were taken at the hospital when my niece, rheagan, was born. she is going to be 5 in may, so these are a little old.

for an assignment in one of my photo classes in high school, i made a book with these pictures of my gorgeous cousin, mckenzie. i am pretty proud of the book i made. in the photos on the first contact sheet she doesn't have any makeup on and in the second she does.

spring break of my senior year in high school we went to california. i took these pictures in newport beach.

click to enlarge. also, i have a really "nice" scanner, so ignore the lines and unfortunately there is also a little dust.
