does this make me a hipster?

my new glasses came in the mail today! i ordered them from eyefly.com and i am in love with them! i suppose one could say that they are hipster glasses, but they do indeed have a prescription so i don't think that counts. i ordered them in eggplant too and they are coming tomorrow. merry early christmas to me!

oh and sorry about the nudity in the background. the things that the milnes keep in their house...

ALSO i know what you're thinking right now, "why did paige take a picture of 25 professionally wrapped boxes of chocolate?"

well, guess what guys. i wrapped those puppies all by myself. today. i used to work at this place called scrappy notes (with my girl darcy) in high school and my entire job was to tie bows. so as you can see, i got pretty awesome at it.

huzzah!

picnic

so we had a picnic with sandwiches from sensuous the other day. i finally got to use the picnic basket that i purchased three months ago...i had high hopes for my summer.

i decided to break out this precious quilt that i made a few weeks ago for the occasion...
precious, right? i told everyone that if they got food on my quilt i would cry and/or murder them. it was kind of a tense meal.

i got all of the fabric for my quilt here.

in a pickle

you know how pickles are my favorite? do you know why they are my favorite?

nana made the best pickles in the whole world. i am not even exaggerating. she passed away about 13 years ago and my dad's family has been trying to figure out her pickles (among other recipes) ever since. a couple of my aunts have the recipe just about down.

last weekend brooke and i decided maybe we can get it right on our first try...
after several phone calls to my aunt eileen and mother, this is our result. i'll let you know how they turn out after thanksgiving when we're allowed to open them.

not to brag, but...

i made these adorable pillows.

my sister commissioned me to make these pillows for her bedroom. they were all her design, but i did all the construction. as you are probably aware, i am unemployed and will do anything for money. so...if you live in utah and need something sewn, feel free to hit me up.

running out of time

so it's august and summer is quickly fading...well not really, but school starts in 27 days and i have quite a few things i want to do before i become a slave to my studies. okay, we all know that i have never been a "slave to my studies" since studying is very very low on my list of favorite things to do, but i think we can all agree that once school starts, i will have much less time.

at the beginning of the summer i made a list of projects i wanted to accomplish:
1. alter a dress that is several sizes too big, but hey it was only $10 - done, though it didn't really work exactly how i had envisioned
2. hem all of my dress pants - attempted, but brooke told me to not hem them and start wearing heels to work (which i also have not done and will not do)
3. make a dress
4. make a quilt - in progress
5. sew pillows for the living room in my apt - done, pictures to come
6. make a skirt
7. make my citizen jeans shorts - done

i have obviously made a lot of progress on these projects...

and i have all these adventures i want to go on before school starts:
1. bear lake
2. float provo river
3. seven peaks
4. kfc in a park
5. camping

i also want to:
1. become a bronze goddess (well on my way after a lot of hard work)
2. finish reading the historian (almost there, though i don't want it to end)
3. make jam
4. become a runner
5. start riding my bike

so much to do in only 27 short summer days. do you have any goals you need to accomplish before the summer ends?

a little jackson pollock anyone?

for our humanities class, sarah and i had to make jackson pollock-esque paintings. we decided to get colors that would match our apartment so we could display them after we turned them in. this is what we came up with, we were pretty pleased. mine is on the left and sarah's is on the right.
