eternal love

the world lost a really great person last saturday.  over the years i have posted a lot about the love that i have for paul walker (you can read those posts here if you want).  i have just always been so attracted to him because, i mean, look at him.  he's perfection.  but it wasn't only about his incredible good looks. he has just always seemed like such a nice, down to earth, humble guy and i really admire that about him.  he was beautiful inside and out.

i might (/definitely do) have a couple pictures of paul at my desk at work so most of my co-workers know about my love for him. the monday before thanksgiving (5 days before he passed away) my co-worker had people around the office write down what they were thankful for and then she took a picture of us with it and posted it on the ultradent blog.  if you can find me in there you will see that i said i was thankful for paul walker, which i genuinely am. well today they made a card with a photoshopped picture of paul and me and then had everyone sign it.  see picture below.
when they gave it to me, i just thought "this is awesome, we look so good together! i knew it!"  i didn't realize it was a card so when they told me to open it and i saw that all my co-workers had signed it, i started to sob.  like crying so hard with tears running down my face in front of my co-workers. i could still cry right now thinking about it.  but isn't that just the nicest and funniest thing ever?  it just melted my heart.

i know it's silly that i have this crush and that he means so much to me but i have had countless people tell me how sorry they are for my loss.  i know that it is partially to joke with me but i still really have felt loved nonetheless.  i just feel really lucky to have so many friends and people that care about me. so thank you for your condolences, they mean a lot to me. it takes away a little bit of the sting of losing the love of my life.
well paul, as much as i don't want to believe it, i guess this is goodbye for now. just know that you will always have my heart and i will love you forever.

love always,
paige

so long, farewell

remember this post?

well the time for the civic and i to go our separate ways has come. i took my car in a couple weeks ago and found out that it has some issues that i felt like were more expensive than i wanted to deal with, so the car shopping commenced. i found a car that i really like and ended up purchasing. here are some not very good pictures of my last day with my best friend:
i wanted to take a picture hugging my car before i left it at the dealership, but i thought the salesman would feel a little awkward being the photographer for that. i had to sit in stand still traffic for 45 minutes (for no good reason - thank you, utah) on the way to pick up the new car. while i was sitting there i was thinking about leaving the civic at the dealership and never seeing it again. i literally started to tear up. we have spent 7 years together and it has been so great to me, gotten me through some of the most important years of my life. it was definitely hard to leave the civic.

but...

I GOT TO DRIVE AWAY IN THIS!
i know what you're thinking, "how can paige afford a bmw?!" well people, it's used and i got a crazy good deal on it. i am seriously in love with this car! working was so hard today because i just wanted to drive and sit in it all day. i am very happy with my decision.

in other pudge news, i got a new job. i am still with the same company, just a different department. i am now a marketing assistant and i really like it so far. the people in my former department got me a cake and a card to send me off to my new position. it is bittersweet, i'm really going to miss working with everyone.

big changes!!!

2011 holi festival

i am fully aware that the festival of colors happened a few weeks ago and that we all saw about a billion iphone-app-edited-pictures on facebook and you probably don't care to see mine. i have hesitated to post these until now for the above reasons and maybe there isn't anything original about these pictures but that's okay with me.

ali and i decided to go last minute, this was her first holi fest.
look at all those crazy colors, i have no idea how that even happened.

when we first got to the festival this creepy old man stopped me and said that i had a big target on my chest because i didn't have any color on me yet. i just laughed and tried to get away. he proceeded to pull me into him and smash his body against mine to get some of his color to come off on me. and then i ran for my dear life.

and that's the story of that one time when i was molested at the festival of colors.

last year's pictures can be seen here.

oh, and i stole this video from martha's facebook.
it's pretty much awesome:

remember when...

...it was warm outside and we had bushels of fun at the utah state fair???
...and that was like six months ago and i took about a billion pictures and just never got around to posting them?
...and we waited for and ate corndogs?
...and andie made a phone call?
...and we weren't any of the lucky people that won prizes?
...and we rode the ferris wheel?
...and charlotte and brad took their engagement picture?
...and andrea and brad took their engagement picture too?
...and charlotte ate this entire elephant ear all by herself?
just kidding, we helped. kind of.
note the crazy on the right...
yeah... that was fun.

graduation

so...i graduated. a month ago - i'm a little behind in blogging about the events of my life.
to my left is my old roommate, sarah, from my sophomore year. we got to have a precious little reunion.
even the grandparents came.
brooke and david threw me an awesome bbq with deliciously amazing food.
family and friends came.
isn't it irritating that i am wearing a turtleneck sweater at the end of april at a bbq? it is taking forever for summer to arrive in utah. it's supes annoying.

so that was graduation. it was a great day and i am so thankful that i am surrounded by family and friends that are so supportive.

stay tuned for posts about my birthday and new york (which was awesome, by the way).

in case you were wondering

st. george was glorious. we (andrea, aaron, and me) drove down after work on friday night and came back late saturday night. i had never been there before and i quite enjoyed myself. the weather was beautiful - though i did not come back as a bronze goddess, in spite of all my efforts. apparently miracles don't happen in two hours at the pool. sigh...

we went to our friend jared's parents' house and it was seriously amazing. i am inviting myself down there again just so i can take pictures of it because i was too lazy to walk to the car and get my camera.

this was the most interesting picture we took the whole 24 hours.
the outlets in st. george are terrible. don't waste your time.
i guess i can call myself a true utahn now because i vacationed in st. george. i have mixed feelings about this.

and maybe i hit a girl with my car on the way home from church yesterday.

color me a party

we had our color party on friday night and it was (of course) a success. "what does a color party involve" you ask? well, quite a bit. all party attendees were instructed to wear all one color or several colors. i tried wearing all gray since it is my favorite color but it just wasn't quite jazzy enough so i decided to wear every color instead. once people got to the party, they had the pleasure of enjoying a playlist consisting of all songs with colors in the title and...

a wall covered in paper for people to write/draw on
a color wall for people to get their picture taken in front of
a streamer covered ceiling
candy separated by color (don't worry, i had recovered from my pink eye when i separated all the candy and i washed my hands several times)
and even gordon got to join in on the fun for one last hoorah before he had to go back to andrea's uncle's dark, cold, lonely garage. (we're all pretty upset...i can't even talk about it)
the party was pretty much awesome and you can click here to see the facebook album for more pictures - you can see them even if you don't have facebook.

things to look forward to

seeing as how i am at home sick (and i actually had somewhere to go today, can you believe it?) i am sitting here watching reruns of the o.c. and trying to stay positive by thinking of things that i have to look forward to this week/the near future...

1. today is wednesday = modern family is coming on tonight. i can't talk about this show enough, have you noticed?
2. season 7 of project runway premieres tomorrow night. this show is seriously the one of the best things to happen to me and the world of reality tv.
3. we are throwing party #4 on friday night...color me a party. color walls, people dressed head-to-toe in color, color songs, candy separated by color...it is pretty much going to be awesome.
4. sundance film festival starts next weekend. let the celebrity stalking begin.

what are you looking forward to?

the rumors are true

the cabin fever party was truly amazing. we took a ton of pictures and there are a bunch on facebook, so look there for more evidence of this party's gloriousness.

here are some of my favorites from the night:

we throw awesome parties.

our bear skin rug.

my cousins came and yet my own brother didn't come.

the best picture from the whole night.

meet gordon. we have decided to never give him back to andrea's uncle.

we liked having gordon in the kitchen so much that we decided to put the love seat under him and moved the kitchen table into the living room. it is quite adorable and i never want to leave my cute apartment ever again.

so, the party was a huge success. there were so many people there it was hard to move at one point. good food, good games, good music and good people. what more could you ask for?
