i have this recent obsession with books. not literature type books...fun books. modcloth has apartment stuff now (kill me...so precious) and i want all of these books that are on their website. i mean, don't you?

since i have already purchased this one and this one, oh and this one too...i can't really justify buying any more books. SO...my half birthday is only two months and eight days away and i know that you have thought to yourself "i want to buy paige a present, i wonder what she would want..." well, now you know. go here on modcloth's website and purchase away. AND since i like to make things and i'm pretty sure i have uttered the phrase "p.s. i made this" i want this book too.

she & him

you know how i love zooey deschanel? andrea and i went to the she & him concert last week. it was amazing. as if it were possible, i think i want to be zooey even more now. she is so cute and nice, and sounded just as good live as she does on their albums.

we're so indie...

i had plans to kidnap zooey and force her into best friendship...and they were successful. we're hanging out right now.

picnic

so we had a picnic with sandwiches from sensuous the other day. i finally got to use the picnic basket that i purchased three months ago...i had high hopes for my summer.

i decided to break out this precious quilt that i made a few weeks ago for the occasion...

precious, right? i told everyone that if they got food on my quilt i would cry and/or murder them. it was kind of a tense meal.

i am in love with this dress by prada.

and since i will never be able to afford this dress, i thought maybe i would be able to find a dress like it closer to my price range, but oh wait. that's impossible. so what's a girl to do?

hold the phone. didn't i go to college for 4+ years for something? oh that's right. i majored in clothing construction (not orthodontic sales, surprisingly) and can make my own dress.

so i don't usually post these kinds of things on this blog because i like to keep it pretty light and fun but i just think i am going to post this anyway. because guess what. this is my blog and i can do whatever the h i want.

so i went to lake powell with andrea's family and martha. it was a grand old time.

you know how i live my life in fear? well, i am now a more daring version of myself. while i was in lp i wake boarded, knee boarded, hiked, drove a wave runner...and the list goes on.

in a pickle

you know how pickles are my favorite? do you know why they are my favorite?

nana made the best pickles in the whole world. i am not even exaggerating. she passed away about 13 years ago and my dad's family has been trying to figure out her pickles (among other recipes) ever since. a couple of my aunts have the recipe just about down.

last weekend brooke and i decided maybe we can get it right on our first try...

after several phone calls to my aunt eileen and mother, this is our result. i'll let you know how they turn out after thanksgiving when we're allowed to open them.

i can't get enough of this song. i look forward to the eat pray love (which i can't wait to see) trailer to come on in commercial breaks just so i can hear it.

so we had the thomas family reunion last summer and i decided to take my 35mm camera along and take some pictures. i just got the film developed (yes, a year later) and these photos are the result.

the first three photos are on the side of the road between ouray and durango, the rest are at mesa verde. all in colorado.
