lake powell

last week i went to lake powell with my sister shea, her husband ian, and their girls, london and rheagan. baby scarlett got to stay home with nana and bumpa because she is too little. we also went with some family friends--the halls, two sets of halls actually, the tom and kristy hall family and john and laura hall. we had so much fun! i had never been to lake powell before and had always wanted to go. shea and i had a goal to become bronze goddesses, and i'm not gonna lie but we kind of achieved it. i would put a picture of our faces up, but we vowed not to share any pictures of each other from the trip with the internet world. so we'll just have to settle with this awkward one of my tan lines.

here's some preciousness...
i love my babies so much. have you ever seen cuter kids? i miss my family!

stacy jean

last week my best friend stacy came for a little visit. we had a grand time playing around in provo. we watched movies, went shopping in salt lake, floated the provo river, had a picnic, went to the pool, played heartthrob, ate costa vida too many times, went to tucano's, ate shaved ice, the list goes on. and p.s., who knew that the provo river was so treacherous? we definitely did not. my roommate lindsey came with us and we almost died about 15 times. we all lost our sunglasses, lindsey lost her bandanna, and stacy and i both lost one of our flip flops. i can't even count how many trees and rocks we ran into, it was quite the adventure. it was not at all like the lazy river we pictured it being. when we got home and told sarah about our experience she said that she knew it was dangerous because her friend's mom almost died there, would have been nice to know ahead of time.

on sunday night we went up to the parking lot by the y as the sun was setting. who knew provo could be so pretty? we had a lot of fun together and since we haven't seen each other in almost a year, it was a sweet reunion.

4th of july festivities slash trip home to colorado

this weekend i decided to drive home to colorado and celebrate our nation's independence with my family. i met my parents and brother in breckenridge and we had a grand old time.

nash usually doesn't look so creepy...

these two are becoming the same person.

guess i was the only one that got the memo on making a stupid face. we got a little bored waiting for the fireworks to start.

on saturday i got to hang out with my sister shea's family. we ate dippin dots, watched a movie, and played rock band...three ingredients for a perfect evening.

but alas, i had to drive back to utah today (alone, for 7 glorious hours). this is a picture by a rest area in glenwood canyon, the most aesthetically pleasing part of the drive.

i went hiking?

if you know me at all, you know that i am not the most athletic/outdoorsy person. the last time i went hiking was my freshman year of college (just over 2 years ago) and we hiked the y, how precious and lame all at the same time. anyway, on saturday i went hiking with a fun little group of people and it was actually pretty jazzy. it wasn't too incredibly difficult and though my entire body is sore now, it was an overall pleasant experience. we hiked up to stewart falls and it was gorgeous, it kind of made me want to spend more time outdoors. who knows, maybe it won't take me two years to go hiking again.

we actually took like 800 pictures, but i have this really rare talent of ruining pictures and this was the best one. just one of my many wonderful traits.

ugh

so last sunday my whole family (except my sister, eryn, who lives in ny) got together at my grandparents' house to celebrate father's day. my parents, little brother and sister's family all drove over from colorado. guess who deleted all the pictures...that's right, it was me. i had all these precious pictures of my family, the family i never get to see. how lame. i did however take some pictures with my 35mm and had them put onto a disc, but my piece of crap computer can't read it and now i can't post those either. this is just not my day. as stacy would say, "oh life."

croquet anyone?

last night we had a bbq for our ward family home evening activity and it was a lot of fun. we played croquet and volleyball, then ate burgers and hot dogs. i actually wasn't too hungry, so i just ate pickles-- surprise, surprise.

how embarrassing...jen and courtney wore the same outfit.

awkwardly posing, i mean playing, with the croquet set.

my babies

i go over to my sister's house every sunday for dinner and a couple of weeks ago i was playing outside with afton and grayson and we took some pretty precious pictures.

these two are some of the most hilarious kids you will ever meet.

"i'm king!"

i love it when she makes this face.

how can you not fall in love with this sweet little man?

this one's a gem. i hope she never loses the space in between her teeth, too cute.

afton just had so much fun with her aunt paigey that she passed out on the couch.

new obsession

last september, my sister shea told me that i needed to read the twilight series because she was obsessed with it and thinks it is amazing, etc. so last week i decided it was time to read it because one of my goals this summer is to read more books. i read twilight in 3 days, i have never in my life read a book in three days--i'm not a big reader, especially for leisure. i am now reading the second book and i can't stop, i am obsessed. is it awkward that i am entranced by a book about a 17 year old that is in love with a vampire? maybe. i just love that edward and i have found my self fantasizing about having a vampire for a boyfriend. all day when i'm at work i just want to go home so i can read, these books have consumed my life. oh my, this is so absurd.

also, i haven't had a chance to write anything about the office finale...so good! i was a little disappointed that andy ruined jim's litte plan, but at the same time i thought it would have been a little lame for jim to propose to pam at an office party. the whole episode was hilarious. this new holly character is probably the best thing to ever happen to michael since they are the same person. my favorite part was when holly was talking to kevin and he said "i do the numbers." genius. it really made up for the past few episodes which were good, but not quite as good as we are accustomed to.

it's official...

...i'm an adult. i turned 21 last week (on the 14th) and it was a really good birthday. i went home to colorado for the week to celebrate my birthday, and mother's day too. on the big day my lovely sister shea highlighted my hair and then my mama made a delicious dinner and dessert. my mom, dad, brother (nash), and my sister's (shea) family came over for the festivities.

chicken piccata is my all time favorite, i've had it for my birthday dinner the last three years.

blowin out the candles, so attractive. this pie will seriously change your life.
