definitely obsessed.

last summer my family was up at my grandparents' home for father's day. since the babies aren't all together very often now, i decided to follow them around with my 35 mm and snap away. they are all just too precious.

police beat

in my four years at byu, i have rarely read the daily universe and the five times i have actually picked it up all i do is read the police beat. if you aren't familiar with the police beat, it is this section in byu's newspaper (the daily universe) that talks about all the ridiculous things that people call the campus police about. here are some highlights from today's police beat...

misdirected call: A professor received a call from an unknown male party at his office. the young male was upset at his girlfriend about an illicit affair and started swearing. it appeared he had the wrong number.

nuisance: police received a call from a professor in the jfsb who reported hearing a noise sounding like a horn every 15 minutes. other professors said the noise sounded like a bird, superman and a race car. the sound turned out to be an air conditioning issue.

welfare check: an officer received a dispatch about a person sleeping on a metal grate between the hinckley center and tanner building at 6 a.m. the man said he was leaving town and the officer asked him if he needed help.

unfounded theft: a student reported his vehicle missing but later discovered it in a different parking lot.

click here to see the best of the police beat for last semester. i dare you not to laugh out loud.

turn me loose

please tell me you have seen the movie wet hot american summer. it is incredibly random, awkward, inappropriate and hilarious. unfortunately it is rated r (i promise i watched it in my past life before i gave up r-rated movies) so i guess i can't really recommend you watch it, unless you do watch r-rated movies, then by all means. this is by far the greatest scene in the movie and there is nothing inappropriate about it, so enjoy. oh, and if you haven't seen this before it most definitely will change your life. pay close attention to the guy on the motorcycle, especially when he gets to the haystack.

eryn--thank you for bringing it into my life oh so many years ago.

if you are like me and are longing for summer, i would recommend the movie meatballs to appropriately satisfy your need for a movie about a summer camp in the 70s. heavyweights is also always a great summer camp movie too. why is it not summer and why was i never a camp counselor? maybe that's what i'll do this summer...

this will change your life.

it has been brought to my attention that i use the phrase "this will change your life" a lot. perhaps too much. apparently some people think that if their life changed as often as i promised them it would, their life would be drastically different. but hasn't your life changed drastically since i came into it? don't deny it.

anyway, this video clip will definitely change your life, i know it changed mine years ago. enjoy.

now, watch this. thank you for telling me about it brooke.

can i say a little something...

...about the show privileged? has anyone ever watched this precious show? brooke records it every week and saves the episodes for me until i can make it up to her house to watch them, thanks brooke! it is just such a cute show. it is a little refreshing to watch a show with a good moral. we watched 4 episodes last night and i have to say i'm a little sad that i'm caught up because i don't have anymore to watch until a new one comes on. the main character megan, played by joanna garcia, is always styled so cute--head to toe. the premise of the show is that megan moves to palm beach, fl to tutor 2 heiresses. as opposed to most of the shows out there depicting the lives of rich teens (can we say gossip girl?) these girls face problems like how to let a boy know that they like them, someone stealing their tennis bracelet, or doing well on a test. it also shows the importance of family and sisterhood. i just think it is a precious little show and it makes me long for warm weather. it comes on tuesday nights on the cw, check it out!

the break.

i went home for christmas break and it was fabulous.  it was just so nice to relax and not have a care in the world for a couple weeks, pure bliss.  it was also wonderful to spend some time with my family.

dad wearing my sunglasses.  i think they look pretty good on him.

this is my oldest niece, london.  she turned 8 on december 20th.  i can't believe how old she is, i was literally fighting back tears while she blew out her candles.  my baby's growing up!

our family goes bowling every christmas eve and this year we invited some family friends to join us, the johnsons and bennetts.  this is my sister, eryn, and matt johnson.

mom and me baking sugar cookies.  i look slightly crazy and mom is trying to imitate my pucker face.  and my mom doesn't have two different colored eyes, when i was getting rid of the red eye, it went a little weird.

london and rheagan gave us a flexibility show on christmas eve.  it was pretty entertaining.

when my dad sang "paranoid" by black sabbath, i thought i might pee my pants.  seriously one of the funniest slash greatest things i have ever seen.

after swimming at the rec center, rheagan is such a little lady.  i kept telling her that i wanted her dress because it looked so cute and comfortable and she just kept telling me i couldn't have it.

scarlett just loves her popcorn.

she is one of the silliest babies in the world.  she had us all laughing so hard at dinner one night because she kept tilting her head down and looking up at you.  it's hard to describe, but it was precious and hilarious.  later we were watching hot rod and every time a song came on she just started dancing and wiggling.  so cute.

it was so fun to be at home, but it is also good to be back in provo.  as much as i hate provo, it is starting to become home.  don't you just hate it when that happens?
